INTRODUCTION TO RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION

The Recruitment and Selection process can easily be considered to be one of the most critical functions of an organization. As the business environment becomes more and more competitive, having the right people with the right skills for the right tasks becomes all the more critical. (Anwar & Abdullah 2021).

Indeed, it can be a source of competitive advantage. Today organizations have moved from product focus to market focus to selling focus to customer focus to employee focus. (Pawriya, 2016)

It is common to hear organizations speak of their human resource as their biggest organizational asset. (Mohammadpour, 2018). Indeed, ultimately the capabilities of an organization fall upon the shoulders of its employees. An organization is only as good as the capabilities of its employees. The recruitment process includes examining the necessities of work, drawing employees to that occupation, screening and selecting candidates, contracting, and coordinating the new employee to the association. Recruitment is the main function of the HR department and the recruitment process is the first step towards making a competitive quality and recruitment strategic advantage for the association. The recruitment process includes a systematic procedure from sourcing the candidates to orchestrating and leading the interviews and requires numerous resources and time. (Journal of Entrepreneurship & Organization Management - Chungyalpa W* and Karishma T - March 15, 2016).

The HR department is responsible to choose the right person or best-qualified candidate for the post for the organization's needs (Abdullah & Othman, 2019).

Recruitment is the process of discovering and catching qualified or appropriate applicants to fill the vacant position (Anwar & Abdullah, 2021).

  4. Excellent writing Shafraz, An organization needs to analyze and plan its recruitment activities and methods. However, there may be unexpected requirements following upturns in orders, new contracts and changing customer demands. The HR department (if there is one) can be under pressure from ad hoc demands to hire new employees quickly (Armstrong & Taylor, 2014).
